The Farm & Barn Tour will showcase the wide variety of agriculture in southern Chester County including horse farms and Olympic equestrians, dairy, wineries, mushrooms and much, much more!! The agricultural history of the region will also come alive through a guided tour of historic barns. Fun, educational activities to interest all ages will take place throughout the day at each farm.

Historic Hike at Bucktoe Creek Preserve including the Chandler Mill Bridge Tuesday, July 20th at 6:30 p.m.

The hike will traverse the historic sites surrounding the Chandler Mill bridge on the Bucktoe Creek Preserve, which are part of The West Branch of the Red Clay Creek Historic District, currently being prepared for nomination for the National Register of Historic Places. The West Branch of the Red Clay Creek Historic District follows the west branch of the Red Clay Creek south from its source in East Marlborough Township to the Delaware State Line.

We will hike to the following sites:

  • Chandler Mill Bridge – listed on the National Register
  • Gregg House- Listed on National Register
  • Ruins of African American Cemetery
  • Historic Church Ruins
  • J. Freeman Ruins
  • Chandler Mill Dam/Mill Race
  • Plus a beautiful wildflower meadow and mature woodlands.
